Nampak Tanzania is awarded international safety certificate
Nampak Tanzania Limited has been awarded a food safety system certificate (FSSC , [Status]) in recognition of its products quality.
Nampak becomes the first manufacturer of metal packaging products in Tanzania to receive the FSSC.
“The achievement is a milestone in demonstrating to our customers that we have implemented a reliable system of producing and delivering our products and services and also demonstrates the commitment and dedication of all our employees,” said Mr Noel Zengeni, the general manager.
The certification also acts like a competitive edge that will attract more new customers, thus help to expand the business scope.
“Our endeavour is to attain a world-class innovation for developing packaging and at the same time improve initiatives to cover efficiencies in productivity and quality,” said Mr Zengeni.
Speaking during the certificate handing over ceremony in Dar es Salaam yesterday, trainer Napendael Philemon of SGS Tanzania, the certification company, urged Nampak Tanzania to work hard so as to maintain the high quality production standards.
“Obtaining this certificate must act like a challenge to work harder so that you can be able to maintain the good standards,” said Ms Philemon
The process of getting the certificate started a year ago and after being obtained it will last for three years. The certification is a food safety system based on the International Standards Organisation.
Nampak Tanzania Limited is one of the major manufacturers of metal packaging products in Tanzania which is engaged in the manufacturing of crown corks, cans and battery jackets.
The company has more than 90 staff and exports its products to Rwanda. Back to top ^
