Recycling for the birds

Nampak Recycling has set-up a recycling station at the head office of Birdlife South Africa in the suburb of Blairgowrie, Johannesburg.  In the future, Nampak Recycling's affiliate, Apple Green, will collect the cans, glass, paper and plastic for sorting and recycling.

The venue is particularly significant given the important role that Nampak Recycling and Apple Green play in helping preserve the environment.  According to Birdlife South Africa, birds are an integral part of the world's biodiversity and are invaluable to the ecosystem.  They are also indicative of the state of the environment as the presence of birds means the environment is healthy.
